From 2017 to 2023, I lived in NYC and was always inspired by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation website and identity. During the pandemic, I took long walks through Prospect Park and noticed how the park changed throughout the day. Early in the morning, there were more dogs than humans, then the runners and cyclists would arrive. It was like a play being performed daily. I began pausing to observe and eventually decided to document some of these moments as 1 minute videos with my phone. Those videos became One Minute Park. Later, I built a website for the project and invited others to create their own One Minute Parks and upload them to an Are.na channel. One day, I hope to have a park for every minute of the day, so that the website becomes a clock.
